The PENN® Carnage® III rods are truly in a class of their own. These rods represent the next generation of high-performance rod building with powerful, lightweight blanks that are also extremely durable. PENN’s RCB2 construction consists of a rolled composite core and outer layers of longitudinal glass to provide a lightweight, thin, and parabolic blank that flexes from grip to tip, distributing weight for extra durability. Tangle-Free Fuji® K guides with SiC inserts, Fuji® reel seats, and tapered Hypalon grips pair for a technical, sensitive, and premium setup. These parabolic blanks offer sought after durability, balance, and recoil anglers need to work jigs from nearshore bays and sounds to offshore wrecks and bottom structures.

I really enjoy the Carnage Rod series from Penn. My entire boat is setup with Carnage rods from trolling, bottom fishing, jigging, and casting medium to large spinning reels. I paired my Carnage III Slow Pitch Spinning Rod with a 6000 Penn Battle DX spooled with 50lb power pro braid and a 5ft fluorocarbon leader. First time out I pulled in grouper and the rod performed great. The only item I wish was different was to have aluminum or metal connections for the reel instead of plastic, similar to the other Carnage rods. I also wish the butt was not as long (personal preference). Great performing rod, aesthetically pleasing, and is at a great price.
