    Slow pitch rod crushes Reds

This rod won’t disappoint. Ordered this as what seemed like a reasonably priced slow pitch rod. Reasonable enough that I got a 250g and the 450g rods. I fish Southern California from a kayak typically from 300-700 feet and sometimes more. Paired the rods (switching the reel between them) with a Fathom 15XNLD2 loaded with 500yards of 30 lb metered braid. Took the 250g setup out to 300-350 feet for rock fish using a 200g Nomad Gypsy. Absolutely crushed the rockfish. Landed this chunky vermilion immediately. Rod performed exceptionally. The light weight was easy to deal with making it much easier than I’m used to fishing these depths. The rod has a great action and consistently got bites on every drop. The fish were a much higher quality size wise than with the traditional dropper loop and squid and to me it was a more enjoyable fishing experience overall. I’ve had no issues so far and would absolutely recommend. Build quality looks great, the acid wrap and guides are great and the handle is comfortable. Should have a slow pitch video up soon featuring this rod (https://youtube.com/@fishermens_friend?si=Qs1QNNcJZ8nEFQ0V)

    Good feel

Good rod for the most part. Only used it once, those great for feeling the bite on Vermilion snapper. And held up against a few American Reds, but didn't get them in because I couldn't get them stopped. Maybe I should of went with the 50 pound class rod? Not sure but will keep using it and we'll see...
