I bought this combo to fish on vacation in NC. It was wonderful and helped me catch over 50 fish! Perfect stiffness on the rod. The only thing I didn't like is that the reel is loud. Makes a lot of clicking noises with mono.. it may not be so loud with braid. Overall though.. very happy with the product and the value!

I personally did not open the box as it was Christmas gift for my grandson, but I was told he loved it and was so excited and happy!

I bought a 4000 size reel while on vacation to target a different species than what I was anticipating. After 1 use the bail no longer closes automatically when reeling. This doesn’t render the reel useless, but it is disappointing that a feature broke so quickly.
