The PENN Fathom™ low profile baitcast reels offer all the features you need to tackle the toughest saltwater fish. The Full Metal Body and Right Side plate, matched with a brass main gear and bearing supported pinion offer a drivetrain with unparalleled power, while the TiN Coated Level Wind System and Synchronized Drag and Level Wind system (*400 size only) give extra durability under high drags. Available in 200, 300 and 400 sizes with both standard and high speed gear ratios. Left hand models available in standard gear ratio only.

So far so good.. Drag appears to be smooth. As far as casting,once I adjusted the brakes,works great.There is side to side play in the spool? Not sure about that. Hasn’t affected anything yet. Retrieve is a little slow,witch I knew going into the purchase. Overall seems good. It has only landed 5 fish. All salmon,biggest being 15lbs…Fish Ooon

Great for a smaller reel with good smooth drag and can handle most of my biggest musky lures. Different color would be awesome and a hole in the spool to secure braided line instead of a backer.

Excellent reel. Is very soft and very strong. Love the synchronize level wind
