As a fishing guide in Miami since 1979, Captain Ray has seen a lot of gear come and go. Over the past year, he has taken time to test the PENN Fathom Electric Reel, and he is happy to report that it’s a “home run.”
This reel has quickly become an essential part of Captain's Ray tackle lineup for deep water fishing. According to him, the reel’s standout feature is the auto-stop function. The PENN Fathom™ Electric is a first of it's kind reel. Built on the legendary platform of the Fathom II Lever Drag reels, the Fathom™ Electric completely levels-up your game. Featuring a fully integrated and replaceable Lithium Ion battery, you never have to worry about being tied down with cords or limited to spots on deck with a plug. This reel features a true digital line counter based on line diameter inputs, enabling the auto-stop feature for true hands free retrieval, with an override feature to manually run the speed control as well. The powerful brushless motor handles as much drag as you wish to run, with speeds capable of controlling everything from chicken rigs to sailfish kites. PENN Fathom™ Electric provides up to 40 lbs winding power. Kit includes reel, battery and charger.
